Taking a New Zealand Vacation (general aviation)

By Phoenix Delray

Everyone is looking for the perfect place to spend vacation time at. One of the most popular ideas for vacations is, of course, a place that is close to being paradise. Tropical palm trees, soft, warm winds, crystal clear blue water, white sands, and nightlife that is full of great food, great people, and the best entertainment on Earth. New Zealand is a fantastic place to spend a vacation.

New Zealand is made up of two large islands, the North Island and the South Island, as well as many other very small islands. The country is famous for its geographic isolation, being about 1200 miles southeast of Australia. Since it is so isolated, New Zealand is home to some of the most extraordinary foreign wildlife and flora in the world. Travelers will find it interesting that until 2006, with the exception of a few species of bats, it was thought that New Zealand had no native life that was not marine life. In 2006, however, bones of a newly discovered native species had been found. Now, everything from exotic birds to tropical lizards and insects to land animals of all kinds can be found here. And, of course, the marine life that can be witnessed on a New Zealand vacation is second to none.

The South Island, being larger than the North Island, also is the more mountainous of the two. While at land level the climate is pleasant and warm, the mountain tops are covered with snow. The Maori people welcome visitors from all over the world all year round. English is the main language, followed by the Maori language of the native people. There is a heavy influence of English and British culture, and many famous movies and sporting events have been made here. The worlds largest Polynesian festival is held annually in Auckland, as are many other smaller festivals throughout the year. Agriculture has always been a main economic driving force in New Zealand, boasting some of the best dairy, meat, fruits and vegetables that can be found on the globe.

The perfect vacation spot for individuals, couples, families, and groups of friends is New Zealand. Where no two days are the same, and the cities, country, beaches and farms paint a perfect picture, the sports, activities, entertainment, dining, and rich culture with stay with vacationers for a lifetime to come.

Hiking - Tips For A Safe Adventure
By Paul Hata

Are you, your family, your friends, or your romantic partner planning to take a hiking adventure soon? As you likely already know, it can be fun and exciting, but it can be dangerous at the same time. Of course, there are a number of different steps that you can take to protect yourself on your next adventure and a few of those steps are outlined below.

If you have yet to choose your hiking trail, you will want to do so soon. The sooner that you choose your trail, the easier it will be to familiarize yourself with where you will be hiking. When choosing a trail, it is advised that you take the difficulty level into consideration. For instance, you can find trails in the United States that are designed for beginners, as well as those that have advanced experience.

Once you have decided which trail you would like to hike on, you will want to take the time to fully familiarize yourself with the trail. If you are able to acquire a map of the trail in question, you will want to closely examine it.

You will want to know exactly where you are at all times, as well as how to get out of the area, in the event of an emergency. If you do acquire a map of the hiking trial that you plan on hiking, you will want to make sure that you bring a copy of the map with you. This will also assist you in the event of an emergency.

You will want to think about familiarizing yourself with the security of the hiking trial or park in question; get their contact information so you can contact them in the event of an emergency. Speaking of contacting security guards, you will want to make sure that you bring a cell phone with you.

A cell phone will allow you to call for help if you or someone in your hiking party has an accident or wanders off the trail. If you do not own a cell phone, you may want to think about buying a cheap prepaid one or borrowing the cell phone of someone that you know.

Although it is important that you bring a cell phone with you on your next hiking adventure, a cell phone is not all that you will want to bring. Even if you are only planning on hiking for a day or two, you will want to make sure that you have enough food and drinks, just incase something went wrong. Many hikers are urged to prepare for the worst, just incase. For that reason, you may want to think about packing a number of extra snacks and drinks.

Another great way that you can stay safe on your next hiking adventure is by making sure that you have all of the right hiking equipment or hiking supplies. In this aspect, you will want to make sure that you are dressed for the hike. Hiking should involve sneakers at the least, but you may want to think about buying a set of hiking boots.

You will also want to review the weather before leaving. Even if it will be bright and sunny, you may still want to think about bringing a light coat with you, incase of rain or incase you become stranded on the trail overnight.

Perhaps, the best way that you can go about staying safe on your next hiking adventure is by letting your friends and family members know where you are going, when you will be leaving, and when you will return.

Should you not return on time, those that you know should be able to find you, or at least have a generalized idea of where you are. You may also want to think about writing down the same information and leaving it at a safe place at home.

The above outlined hiking safety tips are just a few of the many that you may want to think about practicing. As a reminder, the adventure can be fun and exciting, but it can also be dangerous as well.

Important Tips For Backpackers Hostel Travelers
By MIKE SELVON

Traveling in luxury and comfort is great; however, nowadays many people prefer to travel with backpacks. This is not because they love to stay at a local backpackers hostel or make use of shoestring vacation packages. It is because this method gives them an opportunity to enjoy the local flavors that would be impossible to experience while staying in the ivory towers of luxury hotels. While backpacking is amazing in terms of fun and adventure, the fact that you are mostly on your own when you move this way means you need to be highly organized and prepared for all eventualities.

The first thing to do when planning for backpack travel would be to draw up a complete checklist, with regard to what you need to do before you embark on the trip. Booking backpackers hostel accommodations should be done well in advance, since without proper accommodations you would have to stay in cheap hotels, which in most cases, offer poor service.

You should also take out a backpackers insurance policy to cover any eventuality during your travel. While this mode of vacationing is exceptionally enriching and fun, it is also prone to happenings beyond your control. Therefore, you need to be alert and be able to think and act on your feet.

The backpackers hostel option is excellent for many reasons, which includes the ability to cook, inexpensive yet clean and homey accommodations, access to local cuisine, customs and attractions, the opportunity to learn the local language or dialect, and so on. When traveling this way, you need to pay attention to a few things which might seem inconsequential initially, but they can be like an oasis in a desert when needed.

Take a few locks with you since hostels may offer lockers, but no locks. Have a complete first aid box with you and if you are on any type of medication, carry the whole course with you as you might not get access to medical supplies when trekking on foot. Other things that you should not leave without is your laptop backpack, an up to date travel guide, a cell phone and scanned copies of your passport and other travel papers.

Staying at a backpackers hostel is an experience that would teach you a great many things about a destination. If you are adventurous enough to go for this type of traveling, then you would be able to see, enjoy and feel the local culture better than you could ever have done from a luxury vacation package arrangement.

The only thing that would stand between total enjoyment and frustration is proper preparation. As long as you are organized and careful about your personal safety, backpacking is something that would thrill you more than any type of travel.
